About Eye of the Eagle

Needing a place to escape the hectic pace of 21st century life? Whether you are looking to spend quality time with family and friends or looking to get away with just your thoughts, then Eye of the Eagle is for you.

Nestled in the heart of a private hardwood forest, sitting atop a mountain overlooking the Tennessee River and Lake Guntersville in northeast Alabama, you’ll discover a retreat worthy of a cover story in the most popular of magazines.

As you pass through the gate and navigate the private half mile driveway, gently climbing through serene forests, time slows down. And then, almost by surprise, you find yourself at Eye of the Eagle. Upon walking through the front door you’re caught off guard by the warmth and charm of this elegant home with its 24 foot high floor to ceiling windows capturing the most stunning views of the lake some 600 feet below.

Taking over a year to build, meticulous attention was given to every detail of this 2012 home. From the Turkish travertine tile, to the Canadian cedar beams, to the floor to ceiling stone walls hand crafted by French masons, the warmth of this place quickly surrounds you. You’ll find yourself drawn to the fireplace on your right or is it the wet bar, complete with ice maker and wine cooler, on your left. Or maybe it’s the comfort of the leather couches and recliners that you find irresistable. But, don’t linger too long for there is much more to Eye of the Eagle than its amazing great room.

In this three level 5500 square foot home you’ll find 4 oversized en suite bedrooms each with an expansive view of the lake, a generous kitchen with high end appliances and seating for 10, an office, a game room ready for a quick game of 9 ball, a wine bar and even an elevator. Complimentary highspeed Wi-Fi, YouTube TV and even powered window shades are available for your convenience. The home was completely refurnished in 2023. From the Tennessee Amish primary bedroom set to the hand-crafted dining set, every table, chair, rug, wall hanging, and accessory was specifically selected for its contribution to the enjoyment of your stay.

Stepping outside, a spacious screened in porch and large deck await. You can “catch a few rays” in one of the lounge chairs, relax in the hot tub, grill a steak for dinner or view a gazillion stars. Feeling ambitious? There are a number of hiking trails on the property and even a highly rated cave --- Gross Skeleton Cave. However, we caution you to not enter the cave without proper equipment and the services of an experienced guide that has traversed the cave a number of times.

Wanting to explore the surrounding area? Of course Lake Guntersville is the big draw. Local parks, golf courses, boat rentals and fishing guides are readily available. Quaint towns such as Mentone and Guntersville along with several state parks are just short drives away, making for relaxing day trips.

Eye of the Eagle is truly an oasis of relaxation and eagerly awaits your arrival!
